Tifft is runner-up in NASCAR Classic Sprint Race 1 at The Mitty, wins SCA class

Matt Tifft continued his diverse month of April on Saturday by making left and right turns in the NASCAR Classic portion of the 47th Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) The Mitty at Road Atlanta. He posted strong results in the Gene Felton Memorial Challenge at the famed road course in Braselton, Georgia, including a class win.

On Friday, Tifft qualified a 2018 Toyota Camry with the third-quickest time among 30 cars, turning in a lap of 1:25.530 on the 2.54-mile, 12-turn circuit.

Competing in the SCA class, Tifft advanced one spot in Saturday's 31-car race to come home second overall behind Joe Nemechek. Ryan Gemmell rounded out the podium, with Jeff McKee fourth and Patrick Womack fifth. Tifft was also the SCA class winner.

He did not compete in Sunday’s Race 2.
