Tifft closes out 2024 campaign with Christmas Classic
Matt Tifft thought he had completed his 2024 racing schedule in the fall, but after a surprise late-season phone call, he headed to Swansboro, North Carolina’s Carteret County Speedway to drive for Josh Williams Motorsports and Ross Dalton Racing and Development in the Christmas Classic on Saturday.
Tifft was one of 27 Limited Late Model competitors at the 4/10-mile track seeking the $10,000 winner’s share. He posted a 16.707-second qualifying lap in the No. 50T B'laster Products Chevrolet, starting him 14th on the grid in the feature slated for 130 circuits.
The attrition-filled race was shortened to 99 laps due to track conditions, and Tifft came home 14th after fighting a variety of issues.
During his 2024 campaign, Tifft claimed three wins, six top-five finishes and nine top-10s across several disciplines.
